Say goodbye to the Open! Festival on Népszínház Street.
The organizing team of Nyitva! Népszínház said goodbye: the KÉK - Contemporary Architecture Centre, RÉV8, and the festival-supporting Józsefvárosi Municipality.
Thank you to everyone who was part of the Open! festival.
Thank you to the ALMOST 100 APPLICANTS who saw the opportunity and sent in their business ideas.
Special thanks to the 8 ENTREPRENEURS - ChewBabka LUPÉ @Maacraft - The social workshop Menedék - Migrant Assistance Association MicroVibes @Modular Collective Stained Glass Mónika Secontaste -, who invested time, energy, and enthusiasm into realizing their dreams, bringing new life, colors, and momentum to the storefronts on Népszínház Street and Nagy Fuvaros Street 6.
Thank you to the JOZSEFVÁROS MANAGEMENT CENTER, who prepared the retail spaces for the new tenants.
And thank you to the CULTURAL, COMMUNITY, AND SOCIAL ISSUES ORGANIZATIONS that filled the public spaces and the Open! pop-up community areas with their programs during the festival.
Finally, thank you to you, the VISITORS. Your interest showed that Népszínház Street and its surroundings are an exciting, vibrant part of the city – and that together we can make it an even more welcoming and open place.
Although the festival has ended, several of the new businesses will continue to stay in the Népszínház quarter:
- ChewBabka will continue to bake crispy babkas on Thursdays and Fridays,
- Modular Collective and their partners are waiting for you at Nagy Fuvaros,
- Stained Glass Mónika and Lupé Photo Studio will still be open during the summer,
- as will the Menedék donation store, which warmly welcomes everyone who stops by.
Check their opening hours on their social media pages!
The Open! Népszínház now bids farewell, but the area is still waiting for you. We hope that we can open up the empty stores again soon at another Open! festival in a new part of the city!
