But is this »confronting nature«, »being its visual opposite«, perhaps also the original sin, the fundamental flaw of the Western art system? Because in this oppositionality lies maybe the misconception that one can remove oneself from nature, distance oneself from that which precedes all distance, that one can be the opposite of a thing whose essence is to have no opposite? For what or who could be so outside of nature, that it could be called the opposite of nature? What or who could be the opposite of a tree?

In this Első Szalon @ Molnár Ani Gallery exhibition talk with Balázs Csizik on the occasion of his exhibition »What can we learn from the trees?« we want to ask about the current relationship between artist, nature, reproduction and representation, technology, humanity, and post-humanity in the 21st century.

The event is also the finissage of Balázs Csizik's exhibition and the last Első Szalon for this year, and we are looking forward to ending the evening after the discussion with a glass of wine and a get-together with all of you!
