On 31th January 2012 Gödör Klub left the Cultural Center of Erzsébet Square where it had been running successfully for 9 years. Gödör has become well known for being more than just a club. It was a successful experiment, being a cultural center of contemporary performing arts while also being an agora in the heart of the city. It counted 250 thousand visitors per year. It was the most popular meeting point for people to view exhibitions, contemporary dance and theater performance, take part in civil programs, or listen to live jazz, rock, folk, gypsy, or world music.
The renewed Gödör Klub still supports contemporary performing arts, the inclusion of people from all social and economic backgrounds and welcomes new young talent. Two stages are available in the flexible inside areas that can be separated by moving walls. In the future it will be possible to hold as much as 4 separate events at the same time.
It is of great importance to Gödör Klub to harmonize with its environment. Noise pollution is being reduced to a minimum by using professional sound-proofing systems, so the peace and quiet of those living in Central Passage is honoured.
Gödör Klub is renting an office space of 2400 m² which is being reformed step by step. The first stage is to open Gödör Klub itself taking 1030 m².
In time, the area will be expended to allow a flexible operation that would include conference rooms and spaces for recreation and relaxation.
